3 Wildfire Explorer Posts to choose from

 

There are 3 Wildland Fire Explorer Posts on the Angeles National Forest and are located in areas to serve all communities in the County of Los Angeles. You can join 1 of the Posts or all 3 of them. When you register for 1 of the 3 Posts you can attend all 3 Posts if you want at no additional cost since they are all the same Agency and Forest.

The Intent and Goal of this program:

  • Provide Wildland Fire Service experience and training to young men and women from the greater Los Angeles area
  • Provide year-round training and an annual Wildland Fire Explorer Academy
  • Host and Participate in interagency Explorer program activities
  • Mentor and provide career counseling towards public service careers
  • Provide exposure and experience in Forest Service career fields

----- EXPLORER POST-99 -----

Established in 1995. This is the 1st Wildland Fire Explorer Post in the US.

This Explorer Post serves the communities of Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley, Simi Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, LA County, Ventura County and Santa Barbara County.

Explorer Post 99 is located in San Fernando at the US Forest Service- Little Tujunga Fire Station.

Meetings for this Post take place on Wednesdays in the evenings.

Established in 2017. This is the 3rd Wildland Fire Explorer Post in the US.

This Explorer Post serves the communities of San Gabriel Valley, Eastern LA County and Western San Bernardino county.

Explorer Post 100 is located in Glendora at the US Forest Service- Dalton Fire Station.

Meetings for this Post take place on Tuesday evenings.

This Explorer Post serves the communities of Northern LA County, Palmdale, Lancaster, Santa Clarita, and Antlope Valley communities.

Explorer Post 101 is located in Green Valley at the US Forest Service- Green Valley Fire Station.

Meetings for this Post take place on Tuesday evenings.
